This five-piece ensemble has been impressing audiences worldwide since their formation in 1994. Now with their sixth album, Blood on the Black Robe, the band return to their roots - a unique sound that helped launch the now-popular pagan/viking/folk metal genre. Months of preproduction and detailed work while in the recording studio can immediately be heard within the meticulous sounds of Blood on the Black Robe. It is more urgent, darker, heavier, and allows ample room for each instrument to fully develop than on previous recordings. Blood on the Black Robe again features illustration work by John Fay with additional contributions by Irish illustrator Peter Rees of Erinfire Art.
